TEN MOST WANTED LIST

Just like J. Edgar Hoover's FBI asking for the public's help in catching hard-to-find fugitives, these are the cards I'm having the most trouble tracking down. Some are needed to add a player not already represented in my collection. Others are the final card(s) necessary to complete a set. Either way, all of them are very badly wanted!

Since posting this list, I've captured a number of the Most Wanted cards, which are memorialized in strikethrough text at the end of the list, with a brief update on their apprehension.

Your help in finding any of these cards is greatly appreciated. Please email me with any tips, leads, or if you have one to trade / sell.

1. 2006-07 Upper Deck Be A Player Signatures JT Joe Thornton

For close to 20 years I've been chasing this card, and more than once I have thought about adding it to the Missing In Action list because I've NEVER seen one in-person or online. A confirmed short-print, Beckett both lists and prices this card, which suggests it does indeed exist, has actually traded in the marketplace, and there are more than 25 copies available. Even though Joe Thornton is among the players most represented in my collection (given he seemed to sign for every release), nonetheless it would be fantastic to finally post Mission Accomplished on this BAP set!

For reference, the other cards in this set look like this.
(Added on the original list; Rank unchanged.)

2. 2013-14 Upper Deck Edmonton Oilers Collection Franchise Ink
FI-CP Chris Pronger (Distribution Group B 1:882 packs)
FI-GF Grant Fuhr Distribution Group C (1:208 packs)
FI-JK Jari Kurri (Distribution Group B 1:882 packs)
FI-MM Mark Messier (Distribution Group A 1:3,041 packs)
FI-PC Paul Coffey (Distribution Group A 1:3,041 packs)
Previously listed as three separate entries on the list -- 4. Pronger, 5. Fuhr, and 6. Kurri, respectively -- I've elected to expand the group to the final five cards needed to complete the set and treat them all as a one-entry gang.

When Pronger left the Oilers after just one season -- which included a trip to the 2006 Stanley Cup Final and an absolutely heartbreaking Game 7 loss -- I'll admit I was a little bitter. My penance appears to be an unending search for his card. Of the final five autographs, including the SSP Messier and SSP Coffey, this is the only one I've NEVER seen available either in-person or online.

And in terms of rarity, the Fuhr card is allegedly 1:208 packs, but it sure seems a lot more elusive than that!

For reference, the other cards in this set look like this.
(Added on the original list; Consolidated into one entry and updated rank January 2026.)

3. 2007-08 Upper Deck Be A Player Signatures S-SF Sergei Fedorov

With the existence of the Mike Modano card from this release in question (see the Missing in Action list), Fedorov is the last confirmed card I need to complete this set. Yes, there are a couple on eBay listed at more than four-times Beckett high book value, which is a pretty hefty premium. Thus, this one is a case of most wanted at a reasonable price.

Reference link forthcoming as I don't have this set posted on the site yet.
(Added on the original list; Updated rank January 2026.)

4. 2001-02 In The Game Be A Player Signatures
21 Brent Johnson
82 Jan Hlavac
A pair of hard-to-find autographs -- both likely unconfirmed short-prints -- necessary to call Mission Accomplished on this set. I saw the Jan Hlavac in the wild once years ago, when it went for what I thought at the time was an obscene price on eBay. Little did I know then how hard it would be to find it again. The caveat I have in the search for these cards is I'm looking for versions WITHOUT either a foil card show stamp or a Final Vault stamp.

Reference link forthcoming as I don't have this set posted on the site yet.
(Added on the original list; Updated rank January 2026)

5. 2002-03 In The Game Be A Player Signatures
119 Mats Sundin
126 Brendan Shanahan
Another case of the final two cards needed for Mission Accomplished. And, like all In The Game products, they come with the caveat that I'm looking for versions WITHOUT either a foil card show stamp or a Final Vault stamp.

Reference link forthcoming as I don't have this set posted on the site yet.
(Added to the list January 2026)

6. 2020-21 Upper Deck SP Signature Edition Gold Spectrum Autographs
115 Lucien DeBlois (Distribution Group C 1:226 packs)
127 Robert Picard (Distribution Group C 1:226 packs)
162 Paul Bissonnette (Distribution Group E 1:36 packs)
187 Rich Preston (Distribution Group E 1:36 packs) [Pending]
221 Dennis Ververgaert (Distribution Group D 1:145 packs)
227 Larry Patey (Distribution Group B 1:1,173 packs)
234 Lorne Henning (Distribution Group E 1:36 packs)
286 Yvon Lambert (Distribution Group D 1:145 packs)
Yet another gang appears on the list, this one featuring eight players not otherwise included in my collection.

7. 2008-09 Upper Deck Montreal Canadiens Centennial - Centennial Habs Inks
HABS-CL Claude Larose
HABS-DR Doug Risebrough
HABS-GG Gaston Gingras
HABS-GT Giles Tremblay
HABS-MB Marcel Bonin
HABS-MO Pierre Mondou
HABS-MT Mario Tremblay
HABS-MW Murray Wilson
HABS-YL Yvon Lambert
And still another gang appears on the list, this one featuring nine players not otherwise included in my collection. One of the disadvantages of living in the US at the time was I missed out on this set's release and have been playing catch-up ever since. None of these cards are confirmed shortprints, but they aren't seen very often. When they are, it's at multiple times over high book value, which is a little too pricey for me. Another case of most wanted at a reasonable price.

(Added to the list January 2026)

8. 2006-07 Parkhurst Autograph Parallel
42 Tom Johnson CAUGHT!
133 Frank Udvari
A pair of HHOFers wanted from this set, one in the player category and the other an on-ice official. I have seen the Udvari on eBay, but only at many multiples over high book value. Yet another case of most wanted at a reasonable price.

UPDATE: After a twenty-year hunt, I finally obtained the Tom Johnson off eBay from a local (!) vendor in January 2026. The hunt continues for Frank Udvari.

For reference, the other cards in this set look like this.

9. 1994 Parkhurst Tall Boys (1964-65)
A-1 Rob Gilbert [Pending]
A-6 David Keon CAUGHT!
Another small gang representing the two final cards necessary for Mission Accomplished on this six card set. I didn't start pursuing this set until recently. I acquired the Yvon Cournoyer in the early aughts, adding the player to my collection and gaining a representative sample of the set. It wasn't until April 2024 that I traded for the Gordie Howe, and that was done more to get the card I had (2001-02 Fleer Greats of the Game Autographs NNO Guy Lafleur) into the hands of a Lafleur collector via a simple one-for-one swap. However, in June 2024 I picked up the Phil Esposito at a great price on eBay, and once you're half-way there it seems a shame not to finish off the set. In April 2025 I purchased the Bobby Hull on eBay at a reasonable price.

Reference link forthcoming as I don't have this set posted on the site yet.
(Added to the list January 2026) P>

UPDATE:Shortly after adding Gilbert and Keon to the list, in January 2026 I tracked down both cards at fair prices. Dave Keon is official off the list having arrived in the mail this week, and hope to say the same about Rob Gilbert in the next few days.

10. 2003-04 Parkhurst Original 6 Autographs
OS-FF Fern Flaman (Boston) /85
OS-EL Eddie Litzenberger (Chicago) /90
OS-KW Ken Wharram (Chicago) /90
OS-SS Sid Smith (Toronto) /95
A quartet of Original Six era players not otherwise represented in my collection rounds out our list. As with all In The Game products, the caveat I have in the search for these cards is I'm looking for versions WITHOUT either a foil card show stamp or a Final Vault stamp.

Reference link forthcoming as I don't have this set posted on the site yet.

CAUGHT! - OFF THE TEN MOST WANTED LIST

FORMERLY 2. 2001-02 Parkhurst Autographs PA-09 Woody Dumart

Woody Dumart passed away in 2001 as these cards were in production, and a redemption card was inserted in packs. Reportedly 20 cut-signature cards were produced from autographs obtained during a 1997 signing session. In a more than two decade search, I've seen just ONE of these cards when it was listed on eBay some years ago. Alas, I narrowly lost out in the bidding and the fruitless search continues. Given its rarity, the Dumart card might be on this list for a long time.

For reference, the other cards in this set look like this.

UPDATE: I finally saw my second 2001-02 Parkhurst Autographs PA-09 Woody Dumart in the wild in September 2024, and pounced on it. Ironically, the card I wrote might be on my list a long time was the first of the 10 Most Wanted cards to be caught!

FORMERLY 3. 2012-13 In The Game Forever Rivals Autographs A-BO Bert Olmstead

I came late to collecting this unlicensed release from In The Game, partly as I had so many other higher priority autograph projects underway. Unfortunately, that also meant I was late the learn of the handful of signers appearing in this set who weren't already in my collection. I've acquired the others, but the Olmstead card remains elusive. I'm aware of a couple of other sets Olmstead participated in, but I'd prefer finding this card.

For reference, the other cards in this set look like this.

UPDATE: Called an audible on this one, shifting my focus to adding the player as opposed to the specific card above. In January 2026 I was able to track down a 2008-09 Montreal Canadiens Centennial Hall of Fame Inks HOF-BO Bert Olmstead. In addition to being a licensed NHL card from Upper Deck, it's also a representative sample from a sub-set I didn't have in my collection previously.

FORMERLY 4. 2006-07 Parkhurst Autographs 119 Clint Smith

He's not listed as a short-print, but nevertheless Mister Smith is proving to be a rare bird. While my preference is the card above, a more than acceptable substitute would be card 221 from the same set.

For reference, the other cards in this set look like this.

UPDATE: I was able to acquire 119 Clint Smith on eBay in December 2024.

FORMERLY 8. 2006-07 Parkhurst Autographs 81 Eric Nesterenko

Another player not already in my collection, and one I overlooked from the checklist until recently. So, in this game of chase I've given Nesterenko a 15 year head start. Here's hoping I can run him down a little quicker that that.

For reference, the other cards in this set look like this.

UPDATE: As is the case with a few of the 10 Most Wanted cards, you could find this one in the wild, but only at a tremendous mark-up. Finally tracked one down at a more reasonable price on eBay in May 2025.

FORMERLY 9. 1997-98 Pinnacle Beehive Authentic Autographs
54 Mike Johnson
55 Alyn McCauley

I recall it was reported at the time this pair of over-sized autographs were not packed out but were later distributed at a card show. It was never specified which show, but given they were both Maple Leaf rookies at the time, a reasonable surmize would be one of the Toronto Expos. For close to 20 years I've sought these cards and rarely-if-ever seen them available.

Reference link forthcoming as I don't have this set posted on the site yet.

UPDATE: This pair came off the list almost immediately after I added them! Scored both cards at a reasonable price from an eBay vendor in January 2025.
